Very rare original WW2 era woven fabric patch for U-203 with the coat of arms of Essen, to be sewn onto an overseas cap. It once already was, as sowing holes clearly testify. It came to me as is and a photo of a similar (I assume still existing) copy adorns the page of a magazine/book (see photograph) and multiple images do exist showing crew wearing it. As one can clearly see, it withstood the test of time very well and vividly, apart from the minor damage to the gold thread piping. U-203 was a very successful U-boat.
